The Less is More Adventure:Drink More Wine

We enjoy wine.

In fact, we’re a lot more like Europeans than Americans when it comes to wine.  We drink it pretty much everyday with at least one meal and sometimes more.  We rarely drink it without a meal, but we also don’t feel that a meal is complete without wine most of the time.

Wine is one of those simple luxuries that we grant ourselves.

As I stated in an earlier post, we are foodies and as far as we’re concerned, wine is food.  We cook, we enjoy cooking, and we enjoy opening a bottle of wine to accompany our meal.

I remember a lady asking me rather incredulously years ago, “You mean to tell me that your wife cooks something every night that you can drink wine with?”  To which I answered, “Pretty much.”  I left out the part that it wasn’t always her, but that sometimes it was me who did the cooking.

A lot of people think that wine is for the wealthy, but in today’s world, it truly is for everyone.  There are so many good wines available for under $10 these days, that it really isn’t fair to say that you can’t afford it.  If you have the good fortune of living near a Trader Joe’s, there are a good many very nice wines available for under $5.00
