Busy day! I started out meeting Kersten for breakfast. It was my first time meeting another blogger, so that was exciting. Plus, she’s moving to my part of town in a few months!
I had a scramble with chicken sausage, tomato, spinach, and parm
(and lots and lots of coffee)
We spent a while talking after lunch, so by the time I got home the fiance was ready for lunch…. (He’d had a busy morning of watching football). We went for easy:
half a grilled cheese, half an apple, half a nectarine, and carrot sticks.
We went to my cousin’s baby shower this afternoon. When I was wrapping presents I got a little jealous of the gift we had for their daughter:
Why aren’t there raincoats this fun in my size?
At the shower I got to play with small people, and the fiance got to walk football and drink. So, you know, we were both happy. And then the sooners lost. Booner sooner later.
I like playing shower games winning. We came in second on the word scramble game, but then we won the drawing. Which was way better because we got our pick of these:
My cousin’s husband comes from a farming family, and some of their relative started Gard Vintners. Free Washington wine? Oh heck yes.
Then we went to the ‘burbs to hang out with my brother, his wife, her parents, and their baby. We had hotel restaurant dinner. Klassy.
I got a spinach salad with cashews, mandarin oranges, bacon, chicken, and raspberry vinaigrette. The chicken was bland. Baby loved it. But, you know, she also tries to eat paper. Salad itself wasn’t too bad.
And now it’s 9:30 on a Saturday night and we’re watching HBO. We’re old.
